In an international research, development, and innovation project (RDI) funded by Erasmus+, the benefits and opportunities of Slow Tourism thinking and practice will be explored over the next three years. The project emphasizes hands-on collaboration, offering participating educators the opportunity to present Laurea’s cross-cutting theme — sustainability — to international partners. At the same time, the cooperation provides an excellent opportunity to discover new practices that could be adopted within our university in the future.
During the project, perspectives and values related to Slow Tourism will be mapped across various stakeholder groups — including individuals, businesses, and third-sector actors — in six cities across the partner countries: Finland, Slovenia, Germany, Estonia, Lithuania, and Spain. Based on the collected data, the project aims to train, guide, and inspire citizens, entrepreneurs, and community organizations to engage in sustainable tourism practices. A key part of this effort will be the development of educational materials and digital learning platforms.
