About Agents of Change
Agents of Change · Unhurried Horizons is a European
Erasmus+ cooperation partnership exploring the future
of Slow Tourism through education, research,
innovation and international collaboration.
Six higher education institutions from Finland,
Germany, Lithuania, Slovenia, Estonia and Spain work
together to create knowledge, learning opportunities
and practical approaches for a more sustainable
tourism future.
The Project
Unhurried Horizons: The Future of Slow Tourism
Agents of Change addresses the challenges created
by fast tourism models and explores how Slow Tourism
can contribute to more sustainable, meaningful and
locally connected experiences.
The project studies values and attitudes related to
sustainable and Slow Tourism, develops educational
materials and works together with local businesses
and communities to create innovative tourism
products.
Through research activities, Learning Tours, online
learning materials and international cooperation,
Agents of Change connects academic knowledge with
practical experiences across six European regions.

What does the project do?
Agents of Change combines research, education and
innovation activities to explore and develop the
future of Slow Tourism.

Learn
The project develops new educational opportunities
including a 5 ECTS MOOC, a 20 ECTS Study Module,
a 10 ECTS Learning Tour and open educational
resources about Slow Tourism.
Innovation
Innovate
Students, tourism actors, local businesses and
communities collaborate to develop future Slow
Tourism products and regional ideas.
International Network
Places
Six European partner regions connect universities,
students and local perspectives within one shared
Slow Tourism network.
Knowledge
Research
Research activities examine values, attitudes and
impacts related to Slow Tourism and sustainable
tourism development.

Four Work Packages
Agents of Change is structured into four connected
Work Packages covering management, research,
innovation and educational development.
Work Package 01
Project Management
Coordinates the overall implementation of the
project, including cooperation, administration,
communication and coordination between partners.
Work Package 02
Values and Impact Assessment of Slow Tourism
Investigates values, attitudes and impacts related
to Slow Tourism and sustainable tourism approaches.
Work Package 03
Developing Futures Slow Tourism and its Products
Develops future Slow Tourism concepts and products
together with regions, local communities and
tourism actors.
Work Package 04
Online Learning Material and Community
Creates online learning materials, educational
resources and a community for sharing knowledge
about Slow Tourism.

exchange knowledge across institutions and connect
local experiences with wider European discussions
about the future of tourism.
